Description:
Trees, to 6 m high; bark smooth, white. Leaves opposite, to 3-4 x 2.5 cm, obovate, abruptly acuminate, base attenuate into the petiole; nerves 8-10 pairs, irregular, faint, intramarginal veins obscure; petiole 5-6 mm long, slender. Cymes terminal, corymbose, 5-6 cm across, branchlets slender, dichotomous, densely tomentose; pedicels 12 mm long, slender. Flowers 2.5 cm across; bracteoles to 5 x 1 mm, adpressed to the calyx tube, lanceolate, tomentose. Calyx tube 4 x 4 mm, obovoid, densely adpressed-tomentose; lobes 5 x 5 mm, orbicular, obtuse. Petals white, 10 mm across, orbicular, concave, ciliate; filaments 7-14 mm long, slender, reflexed in bud. Staminal disk not prominent, tomentose.
