Description:
Prickled undershrubs; stem tomentose. Leaves alternate, ovate, acute at apex, subcordate at base, hirsute on both surfaces, to 10 x 4.5 cm; prickles on petioles and leaves small. Flowers in axillary cymes; pedicels short at anthesis, elongate and deflexed in fruit. Corolla 3 cm across, blue. Stamens unequal, 3 long and 2 short. Berry globose, glabrous, enclosed by the accresent calyx; seeds flat, reticulate.
