  Description: Erect, profusely branched undershrubs, about 1.5 m tall; branchlets subterete; vegetative parts, pedicels and outer side of calyx with soft minute stellate indumentum; stipules 2, isomorphic, linear, 5-7 mm long. Petiole cylindric, 5-15 mm long, slightly thickened below the lamina; lamina ovate-lanceate, oblong-elliptic or lanceate, 2-7 cm by 1-4 cm, base more or less cordate or rarely rounded, margin crenate serrate up to base, apex acute, sparsely stellate pubescent along the midvein on the upper surface and all over the lower surface of the lamina, glabrescent, lateral veins 6-8 pairs, basally 5-nerved, chartaceous. Flower(s) solitary or very few (3-4) on aging in racemes, axillary, 15-20 mm across; pedicels erect, cylindric, bent upwards, 1-3 cm long, articulated near calyx base. Calyx widely campanulate, 8-10 mm broad, 6-8 mm long, lobes 5, deltoid, 5 by 5 mm, apex acuminate, faintly 10-veined, glabrous inside. Corolla yellow, 15-20 mm f, petals 5, obliquely obovate, 10-14 by 7-12 mm, apex shallowly emarginate, soft-simple hairy without except the half covered portion; staminal tube cylindric, 3-4 mm long, filaments c. 1.5 mm long, both simple glandular hairy; ovary broadly ovoid; styles 8-10, scarlet coloured, glabrous; stigma capitate. Schizocarp c. 7 mm across; mericarp 8-10, radially compressed, 3 by 2 mm, outer surface reticulately ribbed, glabrous, black, apex divergent, mucronate on a distinct shoulder, glabrous or rarely sparsely stellate-hairy. Seeds sub reniform, 2 by 1.5 mm, glabrous except the hilum.
