  Description: Stout shrubs, densely tomentose; branchlets terete. Leaves to 5 x 2.5 cm, elliptic-obovate, 3-ribbed, densely white-tomentose below; petiole 5 mm long. Cymes 15 cm broad, terminal or upper axillary. Flowers pedicelled, calyx tube globose, 6 mm long, pink, densely tomentose, lobes 5, orbicular; petals 5, white, orbicular, hairy outside; stamens many, filaments 8 mm long, pink; ovary 2-3-celled; style stellate, ovules few, hairy. Capsule 10 mm across; globose, densely hairy.
