Description:
Woody straggler. Leaves decussate, odd-pinnate; petiole to 7 cm; leaflets 5-9, opposite, elliptic-ovate, acute, to 7 x 3 cm, distantly serrate; petiolule to 8 mm. Panicles terminal, showy, to 15 cm wide. Calyx inflated, 2.5 x 1 cm, loosely enclosing the corolla, greenish, 5-lobed. Corolla pinkish, funnel-shaped, to 6 cm wide, red-veined; tube 5 cm, narrow; limb of 5 spreading rounded lobes. Stamens 4, didynamous; filament pairs 1.5 and 1.8 cm; anthers divergent. Ovary 2-celled; ovules numerous, on axile placentae; style 3 cm; stigmatic lobes 2, flattened.
