Description:
Glabrous climber; branchlets terete. Leaves subrotund in outline, to 10 x 13 cm, 3-lobed, chartaceous, glabrous; lobes oblong, middle one to 6 x 4 cm, laterals 5 x 3 cm; petiole to 4 cm, with 2-4 glands; stipules ovate-lanceolate, straight, 3.5 x 2 cm, entire, basally oblique; tendrils axillary, to 20 cm. Flower solitary, axillary, 3.5 x 4.5 cm; pedicel to 3.5 cm; bracts 3, foliaceous, ovate-lanceolate, 1.6 x 1.2 cm. Sepals 5, oblong-ovate, 2 x 0.8 cm, with a subapical spur 1.5 cm. Petals 5, white, oblong-lanceolate, 2.5 x 0.5 cm. Corona of an outer group of slender filaments 1 cm, and an inner one of 0.2 cm. Stamens 5, attached to the gynophore; filaments 8 mm. Ovary elliptic, on a gynophore 1.2 cm; styles 3, each 1 cm; stigma 2-lobed. Berry subglobose, to 6 x 5 cm.
