Description:
Large shrub; branchlets flattened upwards. Leaves 9-15 x 3.5-7 cm, obovate, elliptic, apex acuminate, base cuneate, crenate on upper half, glands 2 at base; petiole to 1.5 cm. Spikes axillary and terminal, to 8 cm; male flowers-tepals 4, 2 mm, oblong; stamens 20-30, filaments of various length, basally connate; female flowers 1.5 mm across. Capsule 4 mm across, glandular, with conical spines.
