Description:
Epiphytes, stem 10-15 cm long, 0.4 cm across, covered with persistent leaf-bases, green, woody, scandent. Leaves 4-8 per shoot, imbricate, 2-5 cm apart, terete, 15-20 x 0.3 cm, green, glaucous with a shallow groove on the ventral side, tip subacute with no apiculum. Inflorescence a leaf-opposed raceme, 2 cm long with 4-6 flowers opening successively. Pedicel with ovary 1 cm long. Flower 1.5 cm across and 2.5 cm from top to bottom. Sepals pale green, flushed with pale purple; odd sepal shorter than laterals, 1.5 x 0.4 cm linear-oblong, boat-shaped, slightly incurved, subacute. Petals same length and breadth as the lateral sepals, incurved, linear-oblong, obtuse. Lip 2 x 0.6 cm uniformly wide all along its length and uniformly blackish-purple, three-lobed, sidelobes auricular, 0.2 x 0.2 cm; midlobe bilobed at the apex, lobes parallel, not diverging, each 0.3 cm long, slightly convex and subacute. Disc faintly ridged, ridges three in number. Column purple, 0.4 cm long. Anther cap large, white; pollinia two, slightly oblong, bright yellow, notched on one side in the centre. Stipe strap - shaped.
