Description:
Profusely branched herbs, branches quadrangular, glabrous. Leaves simple, opposite, 4-7 x 2-3 cm, elliptic, acuminate at both ends, glabrous, attenuate and decurrent at base into a petiole of 4-9 cm long. Flowers whorled in terminal, to 5 cm long, cylindrical spikes, densely covered with hairy cladodes; bracts and bracteoles minute. Calyx 2 mm long, lobes filiform, hairy. Corolla 10 mm long, pink; upper lip 2-lobed and lower lip 3-lobed, hairy. Stamens 2, free, anthers unequal, appendaged. Ovary oblong, cells 4-6 ovuled, style slender, stigma linear. Capsule 7 mm long, oblong; seeds 6-12, thinly hairy.
