Description:
Deciduous trees, 10-15 m tall. Leaves opposite, 20-40 cm long; pinnae rusty tomentose; leaflets 2-3 (4) pairs, subsessile, the lowest pair small and closer to the base of petiole and auricle like; the terminal pair the largest, elliptic-oblong or ovate- oblong, 6-18 x 6-15 cm, entire, acute; petiole 0-6 cm,rusty tomentose-brown (especially on the undersurface). Thyrses terminal, lax-flowered. Calyx campanulate, 20 -25 mm long, 3-5-lobed, lobes subequal, rusty tomentose. Corolla tube 35 mm long, tomentose on the outside, lobes subequal, obtuse. Stamens 4, included; anther cells divaricate. Ovary 1 cm long, tomentose; style 3.5 cm long; stigma elliptic, 5 mm long. Capsule to 35 x 1.5-2 cm subterete, pendulous, twisted; seeds many, 2.5-3 cm, including the short wings.
