Description:
Twiner; branchlets glabrous. Leaves decussate, narrowly cordiform, to 7 x 3.5 cm, chartaceous, hirsute on nerves below, base hastate, sinus broad, apex acuminate; petiole to 4 cm; stipules cordiform, 1 cm wide. Cymes umbel-like, solitary at nodes; peduncle 1.5 cm; pedicel 0.8 cm; bracts lanceolate, 3 mm. Calyx dark purple; lobes 5, lanceolate, 2.5 mm, ciliate, acute, reflexed. Corolla white, rotate, 7 mm wide; lobes 5, oblong, 5 mm, overlapping to right, reflexed. Corona in 1 series, plicate in 5 + 5 lobes, connate below, cup-shaped, distally lobed, arising from corolla base, free from staminal column. Anthers with the connective apically produced; pollen masses solitary per cell, pendulous. Follicles fusiform, 7 x 1.2 cm, apically beaked; seeds oblong, 7 x 4 mm.
