Description:
Erect, suffruticose undershrubs, up to 1 m high, clothed with grey pubescence; branches terete. Leaves 3-foliolate; leaflets 5-6 x 2.5-3.0 cm, membranous, obovate or elliptic, cuneate at base, obtuse and apiculate at apex, glabrous above, pubescent beneath; petioles with longitudinal groove above, up to 3.5 cm long; stipules setaceous, minute, caduceus. Racemes terminal or subterminal, elongated, 5-20 cm long. Flowers 12-20, 10-16 mm long, closely arranged; pedicels alternate, short; bracts minute, filiform, caducous; bracteoles deltoid, sulcate, ca 2 mm long at the base of calyx, caducous. Calyx 0.6-1.0 cm long, divided to more than half of its length, tube short, covered with fine spreading brown silky hairs, lobes lanceolate, acuminate. Petals yellow, often with dark reddish or purplish venation, exserted; standard obovate, 1.0-1.3 cm long; wing petals as long as keel petals; keel petals 8.0-11.5 mm long with long, untwisted beak. Ovary hairy; style hairy, longer than the ovary; stigma capitate. Pods subsessile, deflexed, oblong, 3-4 x ca 1 cm, cylindrical densely hairy; seeds 20-30, reniform, ca mm long brown, sometimes mottled, smooth or obscurely papillose.
