Description:
Diffuse stragglers with elongate arching branches; branchlets densely white fluffy-tomentose. Leaves opposite, decussate, 12-20 x 2.5-5 cm, ovate-oblong, base rounded, margin obscurely dentate, apex acuminate, dark green and glabrous above, densely white fluffy-tomentose below; petiole to 1.5 cm. Panicles terminal or in upper axils, to 25 cm long. Calyx-lobes 4, densely white tomentose without. Corolla orange, 1 cm wide; tube narrow, 1 cm, densely white-tomentose without, sparsely so within; lobes 4, spreading, imbricate. Stamens 4. Ovary 2-celled, pubescent; ovules numerous, on axile placentae; style sparsely pubescent. Berry globose, 4 x 3 mm, surmounted by mucronate style and enveloped in persistent calyx; seeds numerous, minute.
