  Description: Cormous herbs; corm subglobose, 1.5-2.5 x 1.75-2 cm. Cataphylls 3; the upper most to 10 cm long; the lower most becoming chaffy. Leaf solitary; leaflets radiate, 9-11, sessile, narrowly elliptic-oblanceolate; petiole sheathing below middle, 30-40 cm long, pinkish purple with brown and pink markings or pink with brown and white markings. Peduncle ca 20 cm long; tube of spathe nearly cylindric, slightly widened towards mouth, 3.5-4.5 x 1-1.5 cm; limb cucullate, ca 2.5 cm long with 6 broad purple or white stripes continued on to the upper 2/3 of tube and converging at apex; the bands in between translucent extending into a filiform upcurved tip; spadix 4-5.5 cm long, dioecious, green with faint purple striae, white above for a quarter. Staminate spadix to 2 cm long, nearly cylindric with scattered strands. Sterile flowers absent; appendix narrowly clavate. Pistillate spadix 1-1.5 cm long; flowers crowded, subglobose. Sterile flowers above pistillate ones, scattered, subulate; appendix awl-shaped, blunt at apex, sometimes much narrowed below apex and again slightly widened at tip.
