Description:
Branched herb from a stout base; indumentum cottony; branches several, ascending. Leaves linear-spathulate, to 5 x 0.6 cm, crispately scabrous above, cottony and glaucous below, 1-nerved, base narrow, semi-amplexicaul, margin recurved, apically rounded, hardly scented. Cymes 3 cm wide, terminal, compact; peduncle to 5 cm. Capitula pink, 6 mm wide; stalk 3 mm; receptacle 2 mm wide. Phyllaries pink; outer ones ovate-oblong, 3.5 mm, apex acute; inner ones oblong-(ob)lanceolate, 4.5 mm, apex obtuse. Pappus 10-15, 2.5 mm long. Bisexual florets 10-15 in 2-or 3-series. Corolla-tube 2.5 mm; lobes 5. Stamens 5. Style 2.5 mm, included. Pistillate florets 50-70 in 5-or 6-series. Corolla-tube 2.5 mm; teeth 5. Style 2 mm, (sub) exserted or included. Achene 1 mm, papillose.
