  Description: Marshy branched herbs, stems quadrangular at base, branchlets grooved. Leaves to 2.5 x 0.4 cm, decussate, oblong, obtuse, membranous. Flowers in axillary dichasia, 10-20 flowered; peduncles to 1 cm; bracts 2, 1.5 mm; linear; calyx membranous; lobes 2 mm; petals 1 mm, rarely absent; stamens 4-many, style 0.5 mm; ovary 2-5 locular. Capsule 2 mm, globose, circumscissile.
