Description:
Herbs, rhizomes thick, fleshy. Leafy shoot to 1.3 m high. Leaves 15- 30 X 5-6 cm, lower surface pubescent, upper surface glabrous, almost sessile, ligule bifid, membranous. Infloresecence produced separately on leafless short stock, peduncle 4-8 cm long; bracts greenish red pubescent; bracteoles shorter than bracts. Calyx 3- toothed, unilaterally split, sparsely pubescent. Corolla tube yellowish , 2.5 cm long, pubescent, lobes almost equal. Labellum yellow- orange, prominently marked with purple streaks. Staminodes acute. Stamens shorter than lip, almost sessile. Ovary trilocular.
