Description:
Herbs; stem very short or absent. Leaves radical, 4.5 x 5.5 cm, ovate, acute at apex, cordate at base, crenate; petiole to 15 cm long, slender. Flowers axillary, solitary, long-pedicelled; pedicel 15-18 cm long; sepals ovate, 6 mm long, glandular, serrate; petals white, lower petals 11 x 5 cm, spurred at base; other petals smaller, obovate, obtuse; stamens 5, anthers connate, lowers two anthers with spurred connectives; filaments broad; ovary 1-celled, ovules many, parietal; style 1. Capsule 5 x 3 mm, ampulliform, glabrous; seeds, many, black, rugose.
