  Description: Subshrubs, to 1.5 cm high; stem terete, wooly-tomentose. Leaves 8-12 x 2-3 cm, elliptic, acuminate at both ends, distantly crenate-serrate, pubescent along the nerves beneath; petiole 1.5-3 cm long. Panicle terminal, lax, to 25 cm across; branches strigose. Heads 5-6 x 7 mm; involucral bracts 2-3-seriate, dissimilar, outer bracts linear, 6 mm long, sharply acuminate, inner 6 x 1 mm, lanceolate, 3-nerved, hairy. Flowers few, similar; corolla 5 mm long, glabrous; anthers 2 mm long. Achenes 1.5 mm long, glandular between ribs; pappus reddish-white; outer 0.5 mm long, setaceous, inner 4.5 mm long, setaceous.
