Description:
Erect perennial shrubs upto 1 m tall; branchlets glandular-pubescent. Leaves 4-12 x 1.5-3.2 cm, lanceolate, base cuneate, decurrent and with 2 glands, margins irregularly crenate-serrate, apex acute to acuminate, more or less hairy on both sides; petiole 1-2.5 cm long. Flowers 3.5-4 cm across, axillary, solitary, homostylous; pedicel adnate to the petiole in the lower part, free above; bracteoles lanceolate, serrate, with 2 large marginal glands. Calyx densely appressed pubescent; tube 1-1.3 cm long, funnel-shaped; lobes 7-10 mm long , lanceolate. Petals yellow, c. 2 cm long, obovate, apex turncate. Ovary ovoid, pubescent, 1-celled; ovules many per cell; styles 3. Capsule 6-8 mm long, ovoid, hairy, 3-valved. Seeds many, elliptic, brown with white aril.
