Description:
Shrubs to 2 m tall, young shoot puberulous. Leaves 7-14 x 4-7 cm, obovate-elliptic elliptic or slightly elliptic-oblong, subcoriaceous, abruptly acuminate at apex, narrowly acute or sharply attenuate; petiole to 5 mm long; stipule triangular-ovate. Cymes terminal, shortly peduncled; flowers white, fragrant, bracts ca 1.5 mm long, broadly triangular, bracteoles ca 1 mm triangular, brown pubescent; calyx ca 7x3 mm, turbinate, pubescent, teeth ciliate along the margin; corolla tube narrow, cylindric, 3-3.5 cm long, lobes 5, imbricate, broadly ovate, throat hairy; stamens 5, inserted on the mouth of the corolla; filaments small, anthers linear, dorsifixed; ovary 2 celled with one ovule in each locule, style slender 3.2-3.8 cm, stigmatic lobes, slender. Fruit 5-7 mm across, globose, brownish black.
