Description:
Compact shrubs; branchlets flexuous, pubescent. Leaves alternate, to 3 x 2 cm, ovate to elliptic, base obtuse, apex acute, rugose; petiole to 1 cm. Panicles corymbose, dense, terminal or in upper axils, to 15 cm; pedicel to 1 cm. Calyx tubular-campanulate, 1 cm, pubescent, 5-lobed. Corolla tubular-campanulate, orange red, 2 cm wide; tube 2 cm, twisted below; lobes 5, broad oblong. Stamens 4, didynamous; filaments of longer pair to 1.2 cm with perfect anthers; those of shorter pair 4 mm, with 1 cell of each anther aborted. Ovary stipitate, 2 celled; ovules numerous, on axile placentae; style 2 cm; stigmatic lobes reflexed.
