Description:
Trees, 10-35 m high; bark dark greyish; branchlets angled to terete, 3-6 mm thick. Phyllodes alternate: falcate-elliptic to lanceolate, 4-14 x 0.5-1.5 cm, attenuate at base, acute-attenuate at apex, coriaceous, glabrous, brown when dry; gland near base, obscure; main veins 3-5 (-6), more or less parallel, faint. Inflorescence: axillary racemes of head; peduncles 3-5 mm long. Flowers: white; calyx ca 2.5 x 2 mm; lobes oblanceolate, ca 2 x 0.8 mm, membranous; corolla ca 3.5 x 3 mm; lobes obovate, ca 3 x 1.5 mm; stamens 4-5 mm long; ovary ca 2.5 mm long; style lateral, ca 2 mm long. Pods: twisted or curved in a ring, 3.5-15 x 0.5-1.2 cm, flat, unlobed or constricted once or twice,, thin, glabrous, green, brown or dark reddish-brown or blackish when dry, bullate along seeds; seeds 2-4 oblong, 6-8 x 3.5-4 mm, black, enclosed by reddish 2-folded funcile.
