Description:
Large climbers; bark pale brown, smooth. Leaves opposite, up to 17 x 12 cm, ovate, acute or shortly acuminate at apex, truncate or cordate at base, entire, membranous, hairy, villous beneath, puberulous above; petioles to 5 cm long; lateral nerves 6-8, the slightly raised beneath. Corymbs large, compound, closely pubescent, up to 10 cm in diameter. Flowers white; bracts small, narrow, bracteoles 0. Calyx small, campanulate, truncate or very slightly waved. Corolla small; tube short, often villous within. Stamens 4, didynamous, inserted below the throat of the corolla-tube, rarely exserted; anthers ovate or rounded, the cells parallel or divergent. Ovary 2 or 4-celled, 4-ovuled; style linear; stigma shortly bifid. Fruit a small drupe.
