Description:
Subshrubs to 2 m tall; tender parts pubescent. Leaves opposite, elliptic-ovate, 3-5 x 1.5-2 cm, chartaceous, mid-nerve and lateral nerves forked, making for 9 parallel ribs, appressed-pubescent above, except along the impressed nerves, pubescent below, densely so along the nerves, base rounded to sub cordate, apex acuminate; petiole to 0.5 cm. Male flowers shortly stalked, in short panicles, 4 mm across; buds rounded. Tepals 5, free, lanceolate, 2 mm, pubescent without, acute. Stamens 5; filaments 2 mm; anthers 1mm. Female flowers fewer, sub sessile, 1 mm across. Tepals connate, 2 mm, sparsely scabrous without, acute. Ovary ellipsoid, 2 mm. Achenes ellipsoid.
