Description:
Branched diffuse stout herbs, stem concealed with scales and leaves; nodes with abundant scales, 5 mm, ovate-lanceolate, scarious. Leaves alternate, to 6 mm, elliptic, acute, puberulus. Flowers solitary, terminal subtended by involucral bracts. Capsule circumscissile, 3 mm, many seeded, minute, brown.
