Description:
Tree to 30 m; bark greyish-brown; winter buds oblong, to 3 cm, obtuse; scales oblong, to 1.5 cm, margins fringed. Leaves in 3s, to 25 cm, bright green, margins serrulate, apex acute; basal sheath to 1.5 cm, pistillate cones broadly ovoid, to 7.5 x 6 cm, symmetrical, attached on main trunk; stalk to 3 cm.
