Description:
A glabrous undershrubs. Leaves alternate, up to 6.5 long, ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, unequal-sided, glaucous beneath. Flowers few, male in lower axils, female near the ends of the branches. Calyx-lobes of male orbicular-ovate, dentate, of female slightly toothed. Petals 0. Disk of female cushion-shaped. Stamens 2 or 4, the filaments united in a column around a pistillode; anthers dehiscing horizontally. Ovary 3-celled, 2 ovules in each cell; style 3, deeply 2-fid. Fruit about 2.5 cm in diameter, pale-coloured capsule, soon spitting; seeds appressed-hairy.
