Description:
Glabrous shrubs usually growing along river-banks; branches grooved. Leaves 3-5 x 2-2.5 mm, distichous, overlapping, linear-oblong, rounded at the apex, often apiculate, base rounded or subcordate, subsessile; nerves obscure; stipules 1.2 mm long, lanceolate-subulate. Flowers axillry, the males solitary or few together, the female solitary. Sepals of male and female flowers 6, linear-oblong, obtuse, those of the female flowers 2.5 mm long. Stamens 3, the filaments united in a short column; anthers erect with vertical slits. Styles 3. distinct, shortly and bluntly 2-fid, the short lobes usually recurved. Capsules 4 mm in diameter, on a very short pedicel, globose, slightly depressed, glabrous. seeds 2.3 mm long, 3-gonous, rounded on the back, glabrous.
