  Description: Herbs with creeping root stock. Leaves oblong, acuminate, base rounded or obtuse, to 30 x 18 cm; petiole to 60 cm long. Spike globose, sessile on the petiole, 4-6 cm across. Inner bracts ovate-oblong, fimbriate at apex. Corolla yellow. Outer petaloid staminodes orange-red. Lip with a pendulous appendage. Ovary tomentose.
