Description:
Erect subshrubs. Leaves alternate or fascicled, 5-15 x 2-7 cm, sometimes much larger, elliptic, acute at either ends; petiole 3-10 cm long. Flowers 3 cm across, solitary, axillary; calyx campanulate, tube inflated, cordate at base, 5-angled; corolla 2 cm long; 3 cm across, campanulate, blue or bluish violet; stamens 5, free. Berry 1.5 x 1.5 cm, smooth; seeds pitted.
