Description:
Lianas; the stems herbaceous towards the tips, basally woody, glabrous. Leaves orbicular in outline, usually 7-lobed, at times almost to the base, at least to below the middle of the blade, the lobes lanceolate to elliptic, 6-16 cm long, acuminate, entire, glabrous. Inflorescences axillary few-to several-flowered, occasionally solitary, cymose; peduncles 4-20 cm long. Flowers with sepals unequal, the outer oblong, 25-30 mm long, obtuse, mucronate, the inner 12-20 mm long, acute; corolla yellow, campanulate, 5-6 cm long. Fruits capsular but irregularly dehiscent, subglobose, 30-35 mm long, the sepals somewhat accrescent and subtending the fruits; seeds black, densely short tomentose, 16-17 mm long.
