Description:
Small trees, spines axillary, mostly confined to basal portion. Leaves to 8 x 6 cm, broadly ovate, obtuse or emarginate, base cuneate, crenate, thinly coriaceous, nerves indistinct; petiole to 1 cm. Cymes axillary, clustered, 2.5 cm; bracts 1 mm, ovate; pedicels slender, 3 mm; sepals 1 mm, ovate; petals 3.5 mm, obovate, spreading; stamens 0.8 mm, inserted on disc; ovary 1.5 mm, ovoid; style 0.7 mm, stout; stigma 3-fid, recurved; ovary 3-celled, ovules 2 in each cell. Fruit to 1.5 cm, obovoid, dehiscent, 3-lobed at apex.
