Description:
Subshrubs, densely covered with bulbous based hairs. Leaves to 8 x 5 cm, ovate, acute at apex, rounded at base, crenate, densely bulbous based hairy; nerves 6 pairs; petiole to 1 cm long. Spikes 1.5-2 cm long, axillary, solitary on long peduncles; lowers bracts 13 x 9 mm, ovate, acute, cordate at base; floral bracts smaller, 10 x 5 mm, lanceolate. Flowers densely packed; calyx 1 mm long, truncate, ciliate; corolla tube 7 mm long, hispid, lobes rounded. Berry 6 x 6 mm, reddish brown, smooth.
