Description:
Twining, much branched, herbaceous to somewhat woody near the base, perennials, stems appressed pubescent to glabrate. Leaves alternate, rounded-ovate, commonly 3-lobed, also entire, 5-9 cm long, cordate at base, apically acuminate, densely pubescent, below, to glabrate or glabrous above. Inflorescence of 1-to few-flowered cymes, the cymes usually silky white-pubescent. Pedicels mostly 1 cm long. Sepals lanceolate to ovate or broadly-ovate, 10-20 mm long, long acuminate to acuminate, appressed pubescent to glabrate. Corolla blue or purple, rarely white, 5-7 cm long, limb 6-8 cm broad. Stamens included. Fruits capsular, to 1 cm broad, globose or somewhat flattened apically, glabrous; seeds usually 4, tan to dark brown, glabrous.
