Description:
Subshrubs, stem angled. Leaves opposite, 8-20 x 3-6 cm, elliptic lanceolate, acuminate at apex, broadly attenuate at base; stipules sheathing, with 3-5 bristles. Flowers small. Bracts leafy, 0.5-1.5 x 0.3-1.2 cm, ovate; bracteoles 0.3-0.5 cm long, linear lanceolate. Calyx tube 0.1-0.15 cm long; lobes 0.3-0.4 cm long, lanceolate. Corolla white; tube 0.3-0.4 cm long. Capsules globose, 0.2-0.25 cm diam., septicidal, greenish on drying; seeds minute.
