Description:
Annual glabrous herbs with rhizomatous tubers, stem reaches to a height of about 60. Leaves simple, opposite to 8 x 7 cm, ovate to orbicular- cordate, attenuate to the petiole, obtuse at apex, remotely crenate-serrate, basally 7-9 nerved; petiole to 2.5 cm long. Flowers axillary, become racemose, nodding, pale purple or violet-lavender, about 4 cm long. Sepals 5, broadly elliptic, 5-7 mm long. Corolla bell-shaped. Fruit an ovoid to elliptical capsule; seeds minute, numerous.
