Description:
Climbing shrubs, stem purplish, pubescent; latex milky. Leaves simple opposite, 5-10 x 3-7 cm, elliptic or elliptic-oblong, acute to acuminate, base obtuse, upper surface glabrous and shining; lateral nerves 8-10 pairs, prominent below, opurplish in young leaves; petiole to 1 cm long. Flowers in axillary and terminal condensed cymes; peduncle pubescent to glabrescent. Calyx deeply lobed, lobes ovate, acute. Corolla rotate, lobes ovate grrenish-purple; corona of 5 broad membranous scales. Stamens 5, attached to the throat of corolla; filaments short. Ovary glabrous; style apex capitate. Follicles narrowly lanceolate, 6-7 cm long.
