Description:
Biennial, erect herb from a stout taproot; branchlets hispid. Leaves oblong, to 15 x 7 cm, pinnately decompound; terminal divisions to 12 x 2 mm; petiole to 10 cm; divisions of upper cauline leaves elongate. Umbels compound, terminal or in upper axils. Involucre of conspicuous pinnate bracts to 3 cm long. Rays numerous, subequal, to 6 cm long. Umbellules 20-35-flowered, central flowers petaloid, sterile. Involucel of linear, ciliate bracteoles; pedicels to 1 cm. Sepals obsolete. Petals white, obcordate, unequally cleft.
