  Description: Profusely branched woody undershrubs; branchlets dark brown or reddish-brown, angled to terete, tawny-tomentose or villous. Leaves alternate, 3.5-8 x 1-2.5 cm, oblong-elliptic to lanceolate-ellipticacute at base and rounded at the extreme base, entire along margins, acute or apiculate at apex, chartaceous; lateral nerves 5-7 pairs, faint above, faint to prominent beneath; tertiary nerves faint above, conspicuous beneath, reticulate; petioles 1-2 x ca 1 mm, tawny-villous; stipules triangular-lanceolate, 3 x 1 mm. Glomerules arising on the leafy branches, few-flowered, ca. 4 mm in diameter. Male flowers sessile, 2.5 mm across; calyx of 5 lobes, united below the middle, lobes ovate, acute, 1 mm long, glabrous. Petals minute, alternating with the sepals, clavate or obovate, irregularly lacerate at tip, glabrous; disc cup-shaped, fused with the calyx tube. Stamens 5, filaments united into a tube except at the apex, staminal tube 1 mm long, anthers white, ellipsoid, introrse; pistillode 3-fid, as long as the staminal column, lobes linear. Female flowers short-pedicelled, fruiting pedicel 1-2 mm long; calyx of 5 lobes, lanceolate, acute, united below into a short tube, lobes up to 2 x 1 mm, erect, glabrous, persistent. Petals spathulate, ca 1 mm long, glabrous; ovary sessile, ovoid, 3-lobed, glabrous, ca 2 mm in diameter; styles 3, erect, free, ca 2 mm long, very shortly bifid at apex. Capsule deeply 3-lobed, black when mature, glabrous, 6 x 10 mm, dehiscing into three 2-valved cocci; seed 1 in each chamber.
