Description:
Perennials, culms tufted. Leaves to 20 x 0.3 cm, lanceolate, linear, pubescent; ligule membranous; sheath to 6 cm. Spikes 4-12, digitate, to 7 cm, slender; spikelets 1.5 mm, unequal, lower glume 1 mm, 1-nerved, ovate, acute, upper glume 1.5 mm, ovate, acute; fertile floret 1, imperfect floret 1; spikelets 3-awned, lower lemma 1.5 mm, ovate, chartaceous, awned to 15 mm, barbellate, palea 1.5 mm, ovate, elliptic; infertile floret with 2 awns.
