Description:
Trees, to 12 m high, bark greyish-brown, covered with warty lenticels; branchlets thinly tomentose. Leaves simple, opposite, 5-10 x 2.5-5.5 cm, obovate or elliptic-oblong, apex obtuse or suddenly narrowed to a small blunt acumen, base cuneate, margin entire, glabrous, glaucous beneath, coriaceous; petiole 4-10 mm, stout, glabrous, grooved above; lateral nerves 9-13 pairs, slender, pinnate; intercostae reticulate, faint. Flowers bisexual, yellowish-white, sessile, 6 mm long, in axillary clusters; peduncle 1.5 cm long. Calyx lobes 1.5 mm, ovate, obtuse, grey-pubescent. Corolla 7 mm long, lobes attached in pairs, linear acuminate, glabrous. Stamens 2, anthers sessile. Ovary densely hairy, stigma shortly bifid. Frit a drupe, 10 x 5 mm, ellipsoid, slightly curved, acute, ridged.
