  Description: Shrubs. Leaves opposite, to 18 x 7 cm linear-lanceolate, base rounded, obtuse or cuneate, apex acute, chartaceous; nerves more numerous spreading. Inflorescence a panicled-cyme, terminal. Flowers 5-merous, pinkish white. Calyx 5-toothed. Corolla white to pink, tube cylindric, curved. Stamens 5, usually included. Ovary 2-locular; ovule 1-per locule; style long, with 2 stigmatic lobes. Drupe globose, purple when mature.
