  Description: Subshrubs, 60-150 cm high, usually laxly branched; stem angular, ± pubescent, especially on the younger parts. Leaves solitary or paired, 2-10 x 1-4 cm, ovate to lanceolate, acuminate; petioles 0.5-3 cm long. Flowers usually solitary, pendent at least in fruit. Calyx ± truncate, undulate. Corolla lobes lanceolate, 4 mm long, widely spreading. Fruit pendent, oblong-ovoid, ± acute, ca 5 cm long (see note below), yellow turning reddish, shining; seeds smooth, 3-5 mm diameter, yellow.
