Description:
Clustering, moderate sized rattans; stems with sheaths to 3 cm in diameter, without sheaths to 2 cm. Leaves to 2 m long; leaf sheath brownish green, densely armed with spines, spines solitary or subseriate, the largest 10-15 mm long, interspersed with abundant brown tomentum; knee present; leaflets regularly arranged along the rachis. Inflorescence long, flagellate, partial inflorescence to 30-40 cm long. Fruit 15-18 mm across, almost spherical, scales in 21 rows, quite black, shiny.
