  English name(s):
  Description: Clustering moderate sized canes; stem to 10 m or more long, with sheaths to 4 cm diameter. Sheaths armed with spines; spines triangular; mouth of the sheath provided with long papery spines to 18 cm long. Leaves 2 m long; leaflets regular. Fruits ca. 1 x 0.8 cm, subglobose; scales yellowish-brown with a dark brown boarder.
