Description:
Herbs. Leaves alternate, elliptic-ovate, 3-5 x 2-4 cm, chartaceous, lateral nerves ca. 3 pairs, ± converging, base rounded, margin entire, apex acute; petiole to 1 cm. Racemes unilateral, terminating the branchlets, ca. 8 cm long; pedicel to 0.7 cm. Calyx cupular, 4 mm, pubescent without; lobes 5, somewhat unequal, oblong-obovate, 2.5 mm, (sub)acute. Corolla blue or white, 2 cm across, salver-form; tube slender, 1.5 cm, lobes 5, spreading, unequal, obtuse. Stamens 4, didynamous, inserted near the throat of tube, included, with or without a 5th rudimentary; filament pairs 2 and 3 mm; anthers 2-celled, 4-lobed, those of shorter pair with 1 cell undeveloped. Ovary globose, pubescent; style 1 cm; stigma capitate. Capsule ribbed, 0.7 x 0.4 cm, dehiscing by valves, included in calyx.
