Description:
Small herbs, leafy shoot very short, 3-4-leaved; lamina upto 40 x 20 cm, elliptic, acute, slightly hairy on midrib below; petioles 5-12 cm long; ligule c. 5 mm long, of 2 triangular lobes. Inflorescence subsessile, enclosed by the leaf sheaths, densely flowered. Bracts upto 5 cm long, linear-lanceolate; bracteoles as long as bracts but narrower. Calyx about 2 cm, bifid. Corolla pink; tube exceeding the bracts; lobes c. 1.5 cm, oblong. Lateral staminodes rather shorter and broader than corolla lobes, mottled purple. Labellum about 2.5 x 2 cm, panduriform, apex slightly bilobed. Filaments 1 cm long; anthers 5 mm, with a short reflexed bilobed crest.
