Description:
Shrubs; stem glabrous. Leaves to 13 x 6 cm, ovate, acuminate, acute to rounded at base, crenate, 3-ribbed, cystolith absent, shortly pilose along the ribs; intercostae reticulate; petiole to 6 cm long. Spike to 35 cm long, drooping, glabrous. Flowers clustered, 3-9 together; perianth-tube gibbous at base, 2-toothed at apex; hirtus, stigma 3 mm long, hispid. Achenes 2 x 1 mm, ovoid, beaked, puberulus.
