Description:
Monoecious herbs to 15 cm tall; stems slender, tranluscent. Leaves alternate, 2.5 cm across, ovate or orbicular, base equqlly sub-cordate, margin coarsely serrate, glabrous; stipules small, ovate. Flowers white, in axillary cymes. Male flowers; tpals 4, petaloid, obovate or orbicular; stamens numerous; filaments connate. Female flowers: perianth of 2-6 petaloid segments, outer 2 usually larger. Ovary inferior, 2-4 celled; stigma 3-5 lobed. Capsule 2-winged, one wing much larger; seeds minute, reticulate.
